Brothers and Sisters,

It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we announce the passing of Brother Bill Aitken.  Bill was a long time Member and great friend to this Association and to all Fire Fighters across the Province.  This will be a full fire fighter Line of Duty Death Funeral on Thursday October 29th.  Members are requested to line up at 12:30 p.m. at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home on Lake Avenue with full dress uniform.  Reception is to follow at the Band Hut on Dartnall Road.

AITKEN, William (Bill) Peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital, on Monday, October 26, 2009, in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Lorna. Loving father of Leona and the late Gilles. Predeceased by his mother Mary and brother Noel Scholey and sister-in-law Norma Nikorak. Survived by his brother-in- law Walter Nikorak, cousin Betty Rae, sister-in-law Evelyn Scholey, nieces Ten Lee (Doug, Ryan and Jack), Christine (Jason), Diane (Kerry, Tim, and Krystal), and Nancy. Bill was a retired member of the Hamilton Fire Department with 36 years of service. He was a member of Club 60, the Sackville Seniors Centre, and enjoyed playing bridge and birdwatching. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, October 29th at 1 p.m. with visitation from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
