Dear Brothers & Sisters:
A critical part of the service delivery within the Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association (OPFFA) is our Standing Committees. The members on these Committees provide topic specific advice and guidance to our locals and members at large.
Each year the OPFFA seeks members who are interested in serving the OPFFA membership in this manner. Some of our Committee members represent the OPFFA on various government committees and many are directly contacted for assistance by our locals. Being a member on an OPFFA Committee provides opportunities for education through exposure to a variety of issues as well as seminars or other educational forums.
If you feel you have a background in one of the following areas and would like to represent professional fire fighters on a provincial basis then we are calling on you to submit your resume to the OPFFA. Indicate which Committee you are seeking to be appointed to and your relevant experience in that area. Please list any other experience representing fire fighters as this would be considered an asset.
The annual term for each Committee is July 1st to June 30. The six Standing Committees for the OPFFA are as follows (please see relevant Terms of Reference for each Committee attached to this notice):
1. Occupational Health & Safety
2. Workplace Safety & Insurance
3. Human Relations
4. Education
5. Finance
6. Pension
