2009 OPFFA Awards, 2/04/2009
As we turn our calendars and welcome the year 2009, we will soon find ourselves gathered for the Annual Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association Convention. This year's event taking place from June 1 – 4, 2009 is being hosted once again by the Guelph Professional Fire Fighters Association.
The three awards established by the membership through convention action over the years recognize three very special individuals who have all made lasting impressions on our Association and its membership. Brothers Ed Hothersall, Patrick DeFazio, and Joe Adamkowski have contributed in different ways and the awards named in their honour are presented to individuals who embody similar characteristics.
The deadline for this year's applications is 4:30pm March 27, 2009.

As per the resolution passed in 2004, we host a formal OPFFA banquet biennially in odd numbered years. The highlight of this banquet is the announcement and presentation of the OPFFA Awards. 
The Executive Board takes great pride in choosing the successful candidates for these distinguished awards. We request that you and your membership give serious consideration to the attached applications which describes each individual and the purpose of their award. We strongly encourage you to submit the name along with a supporting letter of a deserving candidate.
