The quality of breathing air and maintenance of SCBA equipment is a critical aspect of any respiratory protection program. For the Fire Service, SCBA use and re-filling of cylinders is often a daily event. Providing good quality breathing air for use in SCBAs requires an understanding of the installation, inspection and maintenance of breathing air compressors, including the inspection and safe filling of air bottles.
To assist fire departments in meeting their obligations under the OH&S Act, CSA has worked in collaboration with members of the Ontario Fire Service, Office of the Fire Marshal and the Fire Service Section 21 Committee to develop this one-day seminar.
