BILL 181 PASSES 3RD READING UNANIMOUSLY!

On May 31, 2011 Bill 181 passed 3rd reading with a unanimous vote of 87-0 and will now become law.

This ends our long road in securing mandatory retirement for professional fire fighters and addresses the concerns related to duty of fair representation cases.

We were very pleased to have the support of all three parties on this legislation.

I want to thank all of the OPFFA members for their support in this endeavour, in particular to those who made the trips to Queen's Park and those who made presentations regarding this Bill.

We can take pride in yet another strong legislative victory.

Fraternally,

Fred LeBlanc,
President
