Following the OPFFA's resolution which was taken to the IAFF convention in San Diego the IAFF Canadian office has now confirmed that the Executive Leadership Program offered at the University of Ottawa in partnership with the Harvard Law School will now be extended to members of the IAFF across Canada.

This program offers 3 modules covering Leadership, advocacy and Communication, Advanced Negotiations and the Psychology of Bargaining, and Strategic Choices, Implementation and Governance. Should you complete all three modules you will receive a Professional Certificate in Executive Leadership granted jointly by the Labour Worklife Program of Harvard Law School, the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, and the Canadian Police Association.

As a result of the push from the OPFFA membership the IAFF has developed a scholarship to assist our members in attending the Canadian Executive Leadership Program.
